Pranayama
The breath is one of the most powerful tools available to us. It influences the body, mind, emotions, and energy in profound ways.
Yoga Teacher, Student, and Lifelong Practitioner
Rohit teaches yoga as a complete system of practice, study, self-inquiry, breath, meditation, and conscious living.
The Journey
Yoga did not enter my life because I had all the answers.
There is a common misconception that yoga teachers have everything figured out, that they are naturally calm, endlessly disciplined, and somehow immune to the challenges of everyday life.
My experience has been very different. Yoga entered my life because I was searching for something deeper than physical fitness, something that could help me better understand myself, navigate life's challenges, and cultivate a greater sense of purpose and balance.
What began as a personal practice gradually became a lifelong journey of study, self-inquiry, teaching, and continuous learning. Today, that journey continues through Rohit Yoga Academy, where I have the privilege of sharing yoga with students from around the world.
First Encounter With Yoga
At first, I was drawn to the movement, the challenge, the discipline, and the feeling of being fully present in my body. But over time, I began noticing something unexpected.
The benefits I experienced off the mat were often more significant than the benefits I experienced on it. Yoga was teaching me patience, awareness, discipline, resilience, and presence.
This realization sparked a deeper curiosity. I wanted to understand the philosophy behind the practice, the purpose of Pranayama, the role of Meditation, and the teachings of the Yoga Sutras and Bhagavad Gita.
Why I Created Rohit Yoga Academy
After years of studying and teaching, I began noticing a pattern within the yoga industry: large groups, limited personal attention, an overwhelming focus on certification, and very little emphasis on mentorship.
I felt there was an opportunity to create something different, a school where students are known personally, questions are encouraged, philosophy is taken seriously, Pranayama and Meditation receive proper attention, anatomy is taught intelligently, and community matters.
That vision became Rohit Yoga Academy.
Areas of Focus
The breath is one of the most powerful tools available to us. It influences the body, mind, emotions, and energy in profound ways.
Meditation is not about emptying the mind. It is about understanding it, observing rather than reacting, and becoming aware rather than distracted.
Traditional teachings are valuable when explored thoughtfully and applied to the realities of modern life.
Classical yoga practices give students a strong foundation in discipline, awareness, breath, and embodiment.
Small groups make it possible to know students personally, understand their goals, and offer meaningful feedback.
The goal is to help students apply yoga in real life, not only understand it intellectually.
Why Groups Are Limited to 15 Students
Small groups allow me to know every student personally, understand individual goals, offer meaningful feedback, provide mentorship, and create a supportive learning environment.
In many trainings, students can easily become lost in the crowd. At Rohit Yoga Academy, every student matters. The relationships built during the course are one of the reasons our trainings feel so different.
An Invitation
Whether you are considering your first teacher training, looking to deepen your practice, or simply curious about the path of yoga, I would like to personally welcome you.
My hope is that Rohit Yoga Academy becomes a place where you feel supported, challenged, inspired, and encouraged to grow, not because you need to become someone different, but because yoga can help you discover more of who you already are.
