More Than Relaxation
Yoga Nidra is commonly translated as yogic sleep, but the practice is much more than lying down and relaxing.
Yoga Nidra is a systematic meditative process in which the body rests deeply while awareness is guided through different layers of experience. Because it is usually practised while lying comfortably in Savasana, it can be accessible to people who find seated meditation difficult.
The practitioner enters a deeply relaxed state without deliberately trying to concentrate, control the mind, or achieve a particular meditative experience.
This training approaches Yoga Nidra as both a personal spiritual practice and a practical method that can be responsibly shared with students.
You will not simply memorise one sequence. You will learn how to understand, practise, adapt, and eventually create Yoga Nidra sessions of your own.
Practice Benefits
Rest
Support physical and mental relaxation through a systematic process of conscious rest.
Awareness
Develop greater awareness of habitual thought patterns, emotions, and inner reactions.
Recovery
Improve your relationship with recovery, stillness, and the transition between activity and rest.
Meditation
Build a more consistent meditation practice without forcing concentration or control.
Intention
Understand conscious intention and how it can be used skilfully within the practice.
Subtle Study
Explore the relationship between body, breath, awareness, imagery, and the deeper mind.
What You Will Learn
Reading a Yoga Nidra script is not the same as understanding how to guide the practice. An effective facilitator understands the purpose of each stage, the effect of language and pacing, the importance of voice and silence, and the way different students may respond.
By the end of the course, you will understand how to practise independently, explain the traditional context, recognise the essential stages, write coherent scripts, adapt sessions, and guide Yoga Nidra with greater confidence.

Your Teacher
Joshita Arora has practised Hatha Yoga, Pranayama, meditation, and Yoga Nidra for many years and has taught Yoga Nidra and meditation in teacher-training courses, workshops, and retreats in India and Thailand.
Her education includes specialised Yoga Nidra facilitator training, study through the International Yoga Nidra Conference, and traditional yoga study at the Sivananda Yoga Vedanta Centre in Kerala.
Her teaching combines clear theoretical explanation with direct experience. Her intention is not simply to teach students how to read a script, but to help them understand the practice deeply enough to make Yoga Nidra part of their own lives and share it thoughtfully with others.
Student Experiences
Earlier cohorts have welcomed more than 400 students from Europe, Asia, Australia, and North America.
Certification
Personal practice comes first.
Learning to facilitate Yoga Nidra begins with experiencing it yourself. Throughout the training, you will be encouraged to practise regularly, observe how the stages affect your awareness, and reflect on what makes a guided session feel clear, supportive, and complete.
This personal foundation will help you guide others more authentically. The objective is not to imitate your teacher’s voice or memorise a fixed formula. It is to understand the principles of the practice and gradually develop your own grounded teaching presence.
Students who complete the training requirements receive a 15-hour Yoga Nidra Certificate of Completion from Rohit Yoga Academy.
This is a specialised continuing-education course. It does not replace a foundational 200-hour yoga teacher-training qualification, nor does it qualify participants to provide medical, psychological, or trauma-treatment services.
